DH broke and replaced the washer, fridge, and stove this week (NEW). We have the big fridge from TN, an induction stove, and the washer that matches the dryer we bought. Now if we can convince him to let us get on fixing the animal facilities and add onto the house so we fit (fat chance. permitting in our county means few reasonable people want to do work here and the ones that do charge excessive amounts just because they can). But hey, some quality of life was upgraded this week.
He broke three appliances???

I want to see pictures!

I just invested in a washer/dryer set:

These need to outlive me.

I know the washer broke on him. It started leaking all over at about 11 pm while he was doing a late night load during his nightly "second wind". The fridge was the narrow and deep type and people kept knocking over and dropping things trying to get things out and the fridge is usually pretty empty. And we previously discussed the 40" wide stove with one functioning burner that would randomly go straight up to high no matter what it was set on and then it wouldn't turn off for a long time after turned off ("simmer" was more like INCINERATE if not closely watched) and the oven was screwy. I think he was feeling bad about moving us here. One of the kids laid into him. I'll get pics. He says if we move again we're taking these with us. There was some sort of deal on "older" appliances at Home Depot and he went ahead and jumped. Delivery didn't go to badly either.

We can't fit a standard size refrigerator in the space that was built for the fridge in this house. We can't buy one that will fit in there either so will have to do some sort of remodeling on either the fridge hole or remove some cabinets. At this point DS1 is thinking about removing some cabinets on the end of the sink counter run for the fridge, and converting the "hole" to a pantry. Removing the base cabinets won't lose me any storage since they are not reachable - being hidden under a peninsula that comes out at right angles. The overhead cabinets above the peninsula are almost unreachable as well. Once we remove the peninsula, we will install an island whichwill give us plenty of base storage. A new pantry in the old fridge space will give us more overhead storage. It only takes $$$ and time. :gig
