Help Y’all!
I have recently seen several rats in our barn, and found a nest with babies. I need a recommendation on rat poison that is safe for my babies, I’m scared my goats will get in it.
Thanks, Tiffany

I had the same problem recently.I myself will not use poisons. Mainly because if any of my animals find the carcass of a rat that I have poisoned, I could indirectly poison my own animals. I am including a link to a youtube video I found. I am telling this is so simple and effective. I have shared this with everybody I know who has animals. Face it when we store grains, chicken feed, dog food etc. we have a buffet for rats and mice sitting around. This man shows how to use an old school victor rat trap, but its how he baits that is the key. He approach also prevents them from stealing the bait or getting away. I didn't realize how bad my problem was. I suspected I had 2 rats living in my shop where I store all my feed and grain. In a one week period I probably caught 15. There was one night I baited 4 traps and caught 4 rats.I think they are extinct in my area now because I have not caught any, or found any signs of them in the last 2 month's. Once you watch this you won't believe how simple and how effective it is. Of course when using these type of traps you need to place and secure them where your animals can gain access to them. I have placed mine on a shelf in the barn. I also placed a couple on fire blocks in the wall cavities and then nailed a piece of scrap plywood over that area, so the rats can get to the trap easily but the my animals can not. I am not affiliated in anyway with this youtube post, but I would ask that you like or subscribe to his video. I always do that if it's a video I found benefit from. I want to make sure these individuals have some incentive to keep producing these kinds of videos

Not sure if the electric traps are at TSC... You can go to their website and search to find out. Pretty sure you can order them online and have them shipped to you.

Sorry late seeing this post. I've used those rat traps (the ones in the video) before. Also have tried those glue pads.
