I would like to learn and read more about cows(both meat & dairy). I was hoping that you guys could recommend some books that I could buy for my reference library.

I have some agricultural background, so I am not totally inept. I want to know more information for myself and kids. I will be posting this similar message in multiple locations based on the animals/livestock I want to know more about.

There are many many books out there on cattle you can get. I'd start with Amazon.com and type in "cattle" or "beef" or "dairy".

The books I have are mainly in the beef sector, but there are a few really good books by M.E. Ensminger that you must have:

Beef Cattle Science
Dairy Cattle Science
Stockman's Handbook

Other ones are by Storey Publishing:

Storey's Guide to Raising Beef Cattle (may be a book out about raising Dairy cattle too)
The Cattle Health Handbook
Essential Guide to Calving

Other books I have I bought from the Alberta Agricultural and Food (from the Government of Alberta, Canada) that are more to do with beef cattle than dairy.

But Amazon.com is a good place to start, if I were in your shoes. :)

Thank you for the reply. Those are things I am looking for.
