My Rex kits are nearly 3 weeks old and I've noticed today that two of them have very thin fur on the top of their heads - I'm not sure if I should be worried or not.

What would cause this and should I be doing anything to help?

Sorry, I think I posted this in the wrong place

Is their mother or other rabbits in with them? It could be from their mother.

Yes they are still in with their mother. The mother seems fine - no fur loss. There are two other kits and they are fine as well.

I've just done a quick search and wondered if it might be the kits over grooming each other? I've watched all four of them licking each other for several minutes

Here is a photo of my bald kit - the bald patch isn't inflamed, the kit isn't scratching it and is eating and drinking as normal for a 3 week old. Does anyone think this is just over grooming or should I be more worried? I looked back at a photo I took 10 days ago and the kit wasn't bald then.

It kinda looks like maybe their mother did it, but I could definitely be wrong.

Thanks @Fuchsia, I've never seen the mother groom them, only the kits have been grooming each other, alot! All four of the kits fur seems stuck up at odd angles - I hope now that they are hopping out of the nest box, nibbling food and hay that this over grooming will stop and their fur will grow back.

If they are still nursing, could be some milk is hitting their head from one of the does nipples, causing some extra clean up grooming. Yum. It's in the right spot for this.....

oh @Mini Horse, that makes sense. The mother has been pushing them away the last couple of days so I think nursing will stop every soon so any extra milk the kits can get they are going to take it! And the kits grooming has slowed down too coinsiding with the reduced milk from the mother. Thanks

Or Maybe the kits are over grooming each other.
