Already doing that, but the closet spaces are so deep (one is 30" deep) that I have to double stack the boxes in front of each other. Not so bad in the master bathroom closets where I store extra products - vitamins, toothpaste, soap, meds, etc. But I need pullouts in the bathroom counter cabinets that are 24" deep, and in the narrower but deeper cabinets. I label all clear plastic boxes on both the front and sides of the box. By putting in pullouts I can check the contents of the rear boxes without lifting out the front boxes. Some of the boxes are heavy even though they are not the large 66 quart boxes, i.e. those with bottles of meds, shampoo, fabrics, etc. and I want to spare my back when looking for stuff. I probably dont need to buy as much extra supplies as I did when we had 5 adults in the house, but since I had paid for them I brought thm with me and now have to store them. I even transfer all my flour, rice, sugar, etc. into Tupperware type cannisters, and label them in the kitchen, Blankets go into clear zip bags which I have kept over the years when buying new comforters, and are labeled. I am sort of OCD when it comes to having cabinets and closets tidy, the contents stored in plastic boxes and labeled. Disorganization makes me extremely nervous. One reason I am having a problem with not being unpacked and put away now.
I like how you think. And organize.

More cleaning and unpacking/sorting ut today. Got the hangers up in the aundry for the brooms, etc. Got some stuff removed in the cabinets and closets and rearranged in other storage spaces. The sheep got ut into the fallow grass pasture and enjyed themselves. I got a call from DH to come help him put them back. Not a problem but he said I must have left the gate improperly fastened. Same thing happened the other day and again I was blamed for leaving the gate unchained. I was not even out at the sheep pasture yesterday! I pointed out that the horses may have learned how to remove the chains from the ranch "locks" which are just a slot that the chain hooks into. I told DH that we needed to get some clips to use in the chains to avoid any problems gut he poo-pooed it. Today he decided that the horses must have figured ut hw t pull the chain out. I don't know why he didn't believe me before, they always could open their stalls in California which is why we used to chain them shut. LOL

Tomorrow we go to Bonham for his hearing aids at the VA. On the way home we will stop at Lowes and get a bunch of stuff, including the clips or carabiners for the gate chains. I also will get another closet shelf arrangement that is 16" wide x 96" tall. I will replace the shoe cabinets that are in the laundry room with it. The shoe cabinets are 96" tall but only 12" wide and the shelves are really close together since I had it put together as a shoe tower in California. I put it in the laundry room to get it out of the way, but it isn't working out for storage so it will become a shoe tower again when I do the closets.

DH used a bunch of the newspapers some of the old stuff was packed in to get the fireplace log lit. It is really cozy with the fireplace going and the Christmas lights on.

The Christmas tree is new and only 5' high. It was hard getting all the special ornaments I kept to fit on it! (I left a lot of them in California but still a LOT!) From the time the children arrived, I would buy a special ornament for them every year. Then when we started going on cruises and traveling in our 5th wheel I bought special ornaments to commemorate those times. Every ornament on the tree has special meaning and is a memory. The tree is small but on the buffet it is too tall for the angel to go on the top. I had to find a bow and stick it up there. The angel is on the buffet to the side of the tree. May have to have DS1 cut off the bottom 2" of the tree stand next year so the angel will fit. LOL
