*Rest peacefully Muffy girl! Your angelic soul is no longer in any pain or suffering we love and miss u so very much baby girl please watch over mommy and daddy and your baby brother nunu from horsey heaven. Muffy dob: 9/21/15 deceased 3/20/18*

Muffy nunu’s big sister got loose and ran into the rd Thursday night March 29th & sadly passed away at two years old. She was hit by a car & left to die luckily a witness stopped and stayed with her til help could arrive but it was too late as Muffy died in the ladies arms. The driver that hit my Muffy didn’t even stop or report it he just kept on going & didn’t even look back. So sadly nunu hasn’t been himself since Thursday night poor babies, my fiancé and I have been so devastated over this sudden loss of our lil angel that it’s been just so hard to really go about our daily lives nunu himself has been calling out for his big sister and pacing the stall looking for her wondering if and when she’s coming back inside for the night. It breaks my heart even more just seeing my poor lil man that upset. we have been spending so much time caring for poor nunu that it’s been hard to even process the fact that our baby girl is gone for good. It still feels like a bad dream & that I’ll just wake up any minute and Muffy will still be there waiting for me to greet her and yet reality is that she is now truly gone...words alone can not even begin to describe how lost and heartbroken I feel over my baby girls life being taken from us all like this. we were able to locate the man that hit her and yet he still will be getting away with what he did to her even tho he never called it in and we don’t have be held accountable for the damages to his vehicle it’s still not right that this ignorant fool gets to walk away from the fact he killed my poor fur baby and he has no remorse over it at all. Please keep us all in your thoughts and prayers as we try to do our best in grieving over this loss as it’s not been an easy time these past few days.

I'm sorry for your loss, and I'm not trying to get you angry, but in many states, you would be responsible to pay damages to the vehicle owner as your animal was out on a public road and off your property. The fact that the driver did not stop possibly saves you a liability claim in court if he sues. While you are angry at him, were I in his place, I'd be equally angry with you, the owner of the animal that caused the damages to my property. IMHO, there's something else going on here that he didn't report it and isn't looking for damages from you. Like perhaps he had been drinking? or maybe had/has other legal issues that he doesn't want to add to.

And since my moms an employee of our states current governor I know I can get justice for my sweet angel Muffy since my moms boss doesn’t tolerate this kinda ignorance in the state especially if it’s towards his own employees or their relatives!
And that opens up a whole nuther can of worms... But I'm gonna be a good boy and drop out of this thread.

Many years ago a family friend , a father , a husband, a good hard working man was killed. He was killed because someone's horse had gotten out of their pasture and was running down a winding back country road. As our family friend was coming around a curve there was the horse- through the windshield. The ME and police reports said he was killed pretty much instantly.
A wife lost her husband, children lost their father.

Bottom line- as much as you are sad at the loss of your pet be thankful Muffy didn't kill someone.

Even so what most people don’t realize is Muffy wasn’t the only horse to get loose that night two other full size horses got loose and followed her into the rd and this guy purposely hit Muffy because he KNEW she’d cause the least amount of damage to his vehicle so he knew what he was doing and didn’t give a care about what happened to her of the other horses either so he’s the guilty party here as far as I’m concerned I mean granted yes it could’ve been much worse but given that this guy consciously went ahead and hit her and kept on driving and didn’t even bother to report it to anyone shows how much of a heartless scumbag this guy really is. And honestly this lil mini horse wasn’t just my sweet heart she was very attached to my friends little daughter who’s still just a lil toddler! The fact that they could’ve grown up together and this guy didn’t even stop to consider how much this could eventually affect her as much as it did me?! I’m sorry but there’s no excuse for someone hitting a poor defenseless animal knowing full well what he did to her and just leaving her there to die!

I'm a bit confused - are you blaming the guy for hitting her instead of hitting a full sized horse? Or are you saying he hit her just to hit her?

He hit her just to hit her at first we thought maybe he was drunk but nope after interviewing him cops found out he was very sober and knew full well what he was doing and he even stated he didn’t have insurance on this particular vehicle as it was a used car he’d just got and was in the process of getting the insurance updated but because he’s not been cooperating beyond that first interview we suspect he’s trying to put it off as long as he possibly can in the hopes that we’ll just drop the charges but we r not gonna drop any charges unless he gets justice served on him like a good smack in the face! He’s trying to get away with something g he KNOWS he’s at fault for and he doesn’t seem care who or what was involved so cops r doing what they can to keep on him until he cooperates
