Well I'm a new member here but have been reading byc for over a year now. Since coming to this site I can't even begin to tell you guys how much I want a goat! And let me tell ya, that by this spring I hope I can convince my bf to help build a shelter and get as excited as I am. I currently have 9 ducks a chicken and a rooster who I adore so much. I just can't wait to have a goat that I can snuggle with and enjoy their funny antics! I will continue reading faithfully everyday to keep myself knowledgeable and to learn more because we can never learn enough. I also want to say a huge thank you to all members That take the time to help others in need and to post their own knowledge: )

Can I give you a suggestion? When your reading here, get your BF to start looking at the pics. Then start reading little tidbits to him. It's amazing how it works in your favor. That's how I got my Lionhead. lol.

Wishing you success obtaining your dream goat. Lots of people who share. Get as much knowledge as you can, and when you get that dream goat, hope you share your journey in goats. I've only read, and hoping one day myself to get one, but they are really amazing, funny, frustrating critters. You and your BF are going to LOVE it.

I Love suggestions and welcome all of them! That's a very good idea to have him looking at the pictures so he can learn as well. I hadn't thought of that. I will share a lot of the journey. And lots of pictures!
Wishing you the best of luck in getting a goat someday when the time is ready!

My husband says "NO goats!"... But then he also used to say "NO chickens" too!!

I have the best of both worlds now... I milk one day a week, for a friend of mine so she can have a whole day of not milking. And it is great not having the responsibility of all the milking and expense of keeping the goats.

You could just borrow a bottle baby from someone and casually bring it home to feed for a couple days. Just as a baby sitter... He would fall in love with it and then it would be too late. He'd be addicted. They are better than puppies, you know. (No offense to the puppy people.)
