I also know very little about sheep, but I love the looks of these.

How common is disease testing in sheep herds? With goat herds it's fairly common, and I maintain a disease tested herd for CL, CAE, and Johne's. All three are found in sheep (CAE is thought to be OPP in sheep from what I understand... not too knowledgeable in sheep diseases though). I don't want to risk the health of my other animals from bringing in new ones... but as I said I'm loving the looks of these and find myself looking at this thread repeatedly. :)

They are beautiful! I fell in love with the looks of the Navajo Churro sheep last yr and almost bought a flock. I hesitated and missed out:( I kick myself for it now. I can't find any locally. I may have to look into this breed as it's the long fiber that I like:)

Rockytogg....There is a Monastery in New York that raises/raised (?) a large flock of Scottish Blackface. There are a few small flocks in Pennsylavania as well.

Hi! Beautiful sheep you have. I was looking into Angora goats and was wondering if they could be mixed with sheep. I know sheep can't have the coppper that goes into a goats minerals but is there anything else that would keep them from cohabitating?
