Hey all,
So yeah I guess the title says it all. We have had 2 goats for the past few years and love having them around. We finally are in a place where we can consider getting another goat and I am all for it. At the moment our goat area consists of a 1/4 acre lot and an 8x8 main housing area and an attached 6x8 kidding stall/milking /storage area . I was wondering if it sounds like I could squeeze in 1 more full size goat into that area? Also, the goat is a yearling saanen and will be a first freshener this year. The other milking goat we got from this person, which we have, milked for 2 1/2 years and averaged 1 1/2 gallons at peak to 1/2-3/4 a gallon last fall. I will include a picture of the goat below and she is priced at $250 and is registered. I was wondering if you think I should get her or not? Thanks so much for the help :)!

One of the concerns with lots of goats and small pastures is parasite load. It is easier for them to get worms, mites, etc be cause they are always close and always in the same area. As long as you are aware of it and manage for it, you will be just fine. You sound really excited at then prospect. In say go for it.

So you will be purchasing her bred? If yes, I think $250 is reasonable and if you like her, go get her.

Okay so I'm going to go for it and get her. I'm crossing my fingers she is still available and am waiting for the seller to reply! Oh and I will not be purchasing her bred :( but I guess I can live with 1 more goat :D. I am hoping to get her by April or May at the latest, wow how will I last that long lol:D. Well I guess I have my own pregant doe to keep me busy, that reminds that start a kidding thread soon. Oh and while I was searching the goats current owners website I found another picture.
