Sky Warrior's Kidding Thread -- Heidi FINALLY kidded!!!

Yesterday I discovered Specter is a boy! (How did I miss that? )

So the tally is:

5 bucklings
1 doeling

I'm going to keep the 4 bucklings and wether them. Eventually they'll go to freezer camp, but they're fun and super cute right now. The doeling and other buckling got sold with mom some time ago.

Heidi FINALLY kidded!

We have a new buckling and a doeling!
So our "final" tally is:

6 bucklings
2 doelings

DH is wondering where we're going to put all the wethers.

How it all transpired:

DH went down to the barn to work his horse. He came up to the house and told me to get Sid the llama from the backyard where he was doing lawn duty and bring him back to the goat pen. As I brought Sid into the barn, I glanced at the kidding pen with Heidi in it. Hmm...I didn't seem to recall the two kids with her...

So, they're already named. The girl, Ginger, is the red kid and the boy, Angus, is the black kid.

Very cute kids. Hubby and I have both made the "I thought that was a girl" mistake at least once. Now we check for holes instead of danglies. One hole=boy, 2 holes=girl. Much more accurate. I think some of the boys don't' drop the danglies right away.
