I think you're the first person I've ever known of that raises fishing worms.

I tried once but the manure was not fully composted and it was too hot for the little guys, I think they all died. :/

Yeah... a compost pile can cook about anything... but normally they (worms of course) will boom all over the peripheral areas of the pile. As the nutrients leech into the soil around the pile they take advantage.
