With the aggressive behavior when your filling the feeder have you tired to throw a couple of handfulls of grain into thr pen first to distract them when you fill the feeder
Sounds like you just might have one one of those kind of pigs

Don't be afraid of hogs. Find a 3ft piece of hickory, carve out a smooth handle and let it dry. I keep one handy and IF anyone gets rowdy I wouldn't hesitate to use it. So far I haven't needed it in years.
I won't keep any mean critters of any type. IF you are afraid of this hog or if they are too much for you to handle: sell them or put them on a plate.

BrownSheep, I've had quite a few people tell me this one, I think you're right. I'm not sure WHY exactly that kind of closeness leads to bad things when general socializing of a weaned pig would lead to good things, though.

The reason that bottle raised babies are worse is that humans when they are bottle raising babies tend to think that things are cute, a mama animal isn't going to put up with it, no matter how young they are, and will discipline as needed. Baby animals are also naturally afraid of humans as we are predators, not super afraid, but a little bit, that edge of fear helps us, bottle raised babies don't have that, so we have to be even meaner and harsher to make them realize that we MEAN IT when we say no.
