How do you keep loose minerals from getting soggy in humid weather? It's always humid here in Belize. The goats don't want them when they get soggy.

When you go out to feed, you can always take a bucket of minerals and leave it out there for 15-20 minutes and let the goats eat what they want and then take it back out of the humidity so it won't get ruined.

This is probably what I would try given your location and humidity issues.

I am VERY new to goats but what I do is bring it to them in the am daily and let them lick what they want before they get their grains.Kind of time consuming but for right now it's how I do it due to not having the type of feeders I want to use made.

Thanks for suggestions. I do take it a container of minerals out when I feed them at night. Most of the time they don't want it. I thought I was being a bad mom by not having it available at all times.

having it available at all times is better in my opinion, but doing what ya gotta do does not make you a bad mom! :D

It's really humid here too & mine was getting yucky in the free feeder so I started putting a couple handfuls in their feed. It generally drops to the bottom of the feeder under the feed & they will lick up what they want after they eat which is always all of it. So this way it doesn't have time to get all nasty & they still get their minerals every day.
