I still have 18 healthy kits. Some are so big we call them ones the puppies. Lol. I have another doe should be ready in about 2 weeks. Put the doe that didn't take back with the buck. Looking hard to buy a pair of champagnes. Don't want to drive 8 hours though!! We have over a foot of snow on the ground, more snow today I think. Friday comes the below zero weather. I really hate that type of winter. Started onion seeds finally, quite late, and rosemary. Soon I'll start some cabbages and broccoli and cauliflower. Ordered a Ton of seeds. May try to sell tomato and pepper starts this year. Last year people were selling them for 4.00 a piece!!! I put probably 50 in my compost. I would sell them alot less than that. People are trying to garden now. It's great except when I need something and they don't have it!!

I thought about selling plants here at work ended up giving them away. I'm too easy and I worry about quality of the plants. I gave away beagle puppies same reason.
Foot of snow omg we had inches then rain back and forth.
You definitely have your hands full with all those plus the weather.

29 and counting... Lol... I had a lady wanted to buy 2 of the champagne bucks I have left, she had some emergency. Hope she still wants them. As far as sweet those Lil champagne bucks are sooo sweet. When I go to their pen, they are climb on me. They give kisses and nubs. They are so nice. They are getting big now. How am I going to butcher something so sweet?? I love the little rexes but they are growing so slowly. They have pedigrees. The buck is shy now. The doe is sweet, but rexs love to bite! Is my experience with all rex they bite. Will be easier to butcher something that bites! As slow as these rex growing, they are a long way off from breeding. The one rex I have I bred to my Californian buck. She is scared of everything, but she liked the buck. She is solid black with rex fur. These mixes are going to be for meat. Unless someone wants a pet. Lol. No response on all the emails I sent about champagnes. I want a solid champagne line.

Put the a and d ointment on the doe yesterday, either it hurt or tickled cause she didn't appreciate it. Going to put the comfrey ointment today, I think it will stay on better, it is heavy on the beeswax.

I've heard people say champagnes are flighty. I don't know since I've just had the one. He was a little reserved at first, took a couple months and he came around. Pretty much calmer then the rest. Wish that vet hadn't cut him. She had helped me out big time with a Flemish I bought. He shut down when I brought him home and she took him home, set up with him thru the night. She put him down never charged me, explained it all best she could. I really thought she was ok. Boy I got fooled.
I've never had a problem putting something in the freezer. But I'm afraid I might have a problem with young bunnies. I've eaten my share of wild ones and I've put caged tame ones down. But the frying pan...
Years ago at a petting zoo I had a whitetail doe acting like a dog. I was scratching between her ears, she was leaning on me, back legs were kicking like a dog. Wife says and you eat those and I replied yes but not this one. So I understand how you feel.
Good luck with your search. If you were closer to NY I'd recommend Brickhouse acres rabbitry they have really good looking champagnes, at least online. Shame their so tough to find.

Lol! I love the champagnes. Maybe mine are just nice? Moma does growl if you do something she doesn't like. So that doe I put back with buck, I went out there today and she pulled fur? I'm so confused with this doe. When I put her with the buck she lifted her tail. She didn't run or anything. Anyway brought her back in. My daughter wants to eat her. Lol. I want to give her a chance to kindle.

I'd give her a chance. Who knows could be hormones.
I like my old boy, he'll be 5 in March. Wife doesn't trust him he can be nippy sometimes. But he always happy to see me. Tosses his head, runs to the door, eats anything I give him. I added some plastic sheet across the front of his hutch and that didn't suit his lordship. He has a piece of plywood sitting on sawhorses in front where he hangs out when I come out. He decides to pull the plastic off when I turned my back. I caught him ,when I hollered his name the look he gave me you could tell he knew he was busted. I wouldn't part with him. I close him up but forget to hook the latch occasionally. He comes out on his porch and just chills out.
I like their color. To me the nose patch is blue. And the history they go back 4 or 500 yrs. I do wish they had clear nails. Easier to see. Thick as his hair is you'd think summer would be a tough time but he deals with it pretty well. He's got a home long as we're both breathing.
