It's like any dog, there can be bad ones. Alot are mixes. My boy has papers I paid a **** ton for him. First dog I ever had with papers, my third pit. He has joint issues. He can be temperamental. He is weird about food. And he is strong as an ox he weighs 105lbs. 105lbs pit is strong. My girl is like 55lbs and she is the boss. She is 8 now. She hates all people except me, my kids, and my dad. She is crazy protective. But she has no health issues ever. Listens better than my kids. Super smart. But both my dogs will bite someone no problem. My first pit was a girl too. She had skin issues later on but I didn't know better and she ate dog food her whole life. Poor baby. She loved everyone. She did bite a guy once, but he was mistreating me. I had her 13 years, until I had to put her down for health issues. She was an angel. Different dogs act different. Pits have different personalities. I had farm dogs when I was a kid, but they stayed outside chained up. My dogs are house dogs. Family dogs. So I can't really speak on other breeds of dogs. We had labs, and an Australian sheepdog.

My niece had two one was a Staffordshire. Just as friendly as could be 60 lbs pure pulling muscle. She brought home a cross from the pound. Picture a weiner dog shaped pitbull. Short legs looonnng body. Goofy as could be. Head big as a pumpkin. You're right no two dogs are the same. My chessie cross did not like kids even my son. Never figured out why. Uncle had a pure chessie was evil. Neighbors 2 houses down had a pair of pure chessies. I played with them as a kid, roughhouse all day no problem.
I had words with a neighbor thought his pit did no wrong. Then he jumped my fence got after my beagle. Jumped my fence and thought he was going to tell me. State Police handled it. Dog was incarcerated. He paid a big fine and landlord kicked them out.
Raining and 42 today.

The girl can jump. She jump a 12ft fence to get to me and the kids. Both dogs like to be at my side. The boy he isn't neutered so he is dog crazy. He isnt dog aggressive. The girl she doesn't like anyone, but she isn't dog aggressive. The boy would probably be more goofy but my girl trained him. The boy can't jump. The girl will come if u call her, I trained her off leash with a shock collar. The boy if he gets loose I will have to chase him. He is my first male dog. If you have 2 pits the deal is they have to be trained good, cause if they ever get into a fight they will fight everytime they see each other. And two girls will fight. Mine are cool together but you have to know what could cause a fight. Bones, food, need to be given in their cages. They are free in the house when we aren't home. When they are outside I always watch them, not cause I worry about what they will do, but people steal dogs around here. My dogs wouldn't just walk off with someone, but that doesn't mean someone wouldn't open the gate and try. Also people will mess with your dogs if they think no one is watching them, kids mostly. I've seen people throw things are them and taunt them. The girl is 8 now, soon to be 9, and with the winter she barely wants to go out unless it's for a walk. The boy he doesn't care will go out in anything. He is 4. I think any animal is a responsibility, and some dogs just require a more responsible owner. I caught a dog the other day. She had tags and I called the people and they came and got her. She was a fat old pit bull. Again this is the city and most of the dogs you see are pit or mixes, they are over bred for people to make money. But it is always scary to see a loose dog, especially if you have a dog outside leashed. I don't want to be in the middle of a fight. Alot of times small dogs walk up while we are walking and my dogs just act silly. But if anything came by us aggressively it would be an issue.

Lousy neighbor had 2 fought all the time. He was in a fighting club. His house, his dog, his problem. Outside my fence, short of abuse, not my business. Inside my fence my rules. Same house different nut had rottweiler cross dug out scared the whole street. I called to him, trotted over wagging his tail. I walked him home she accused me of trying to steal the dog. He kept coming back I kept walking him home she kept acting stupid. One Sunday I opened my truck door he hops in. She wasn't home I made a phone call and 14 years later my friend put him down due to old age, couldn't walk anymore. She called the cops pointed at me. I showed them the hole she wouldn't fill. She moved😃. Dog never bit, seldom barked roughhouse with kids. Kids get heavy handed he'd just walk away. But he would make his presence known. Type to get between you and a stranger. I prefer dogs with long ears, good nose and a deep voice. But my heart says no more of that.
Did you sell your bunnies or the weather mess you up?

Sold one the other day. The one who wanted to buy two I haven't heard from. Have 3 people asking right now, have 3 rabbits left to sell. I shoveled and took care of rabbits. Cold zapped my energy. Tired now. Hibernation weather. Strong cold wind. 12 wind chill is - 5. Pretty cold, everything is ice. My rabbit waters weren't froze too bad. I just got 6 water bottles for pet supplies for less at 3.00 a piece for 32 oz bottles. 6.00 snh from Nebraska. Came next day. Everywhere else wants 10.00 a bottle. Crazy. So anyway I can swap out if they freeze. They have so many layers of insulation blankets over them it's hard to get to them. Im sure they are plenty warm. Put the goofy doe back with the buck. She made a mess in the house. Didn't pull more fur and emptied the nest box and the litter pan. I'm done with her. Whatever her story is she is gonna do it outside. I suspect my daughter has it right she will be at the top of the butcher list.

Neighbors can be the worst. Here we have very close living, it can be very difficult, especially if you have inconsiderate people.

I used to love rotties, then my friend had one I knew since it was a pup. I was petting it and it snapped at me for no reason just out of no where. Never trusted that dog again. Changed my opinion of them. Plus I don't care for the hair in the house. However my boy we should had named him yeti cause he throws those white hairs everywhere! Never had a dog with hairs like him. But he is very soft. Those hairs get in your clothes and poke you. The worst.

I inherited the house on three lots. Thank the original owner and my Pop it's all fenced. The hood had a lot of vacant lots years back and they filled in slowly. Two farms on the north side, dammed creek and pond southside. Farms are now college apartments and Drs. offices.
Nosey folks why I quit raising bobwhite quail and don't have chickens. Rabbits are quiet, most don't even no I have them and I don't tell.
Any word on champagnes?

No luck so far. We have city ordnance no poultry or livestock. 2 dog max. I live on a corner lot so you can see into my whole yard. And I have huge garden and compost and that's generally frowned upon. And I live across from a high school so they always have alot of people trashing my property. I don't ask to have rabbits. So far they haven't messed with me, but they have code enforcement and blight officers drive around all the time. I want to move, and have my own land where I can happily homestead and try to scratch a living off my own land. Less people less neighbors sounds good to me.

I fully understand.
Sunday looks like I'll get 3-6". I really hate winter and have no room to complain compared to you. I dread the drive the next day. Maryland might clear the road. Delaware will salt and sand the highway soon as it starts. 27 miles not knowing for sure in the dark. Traffic gets heavy at quitting time. I got 9 years to go before retirement.:hit
