im looking to start raising NZ's for showing and I was curious if any one could provide me with some in sight off hand. I will be trying to acquire mainly reds and whites. I have a few does already and a buck, what should I be really looking for when going to pick them out at the breeders? I know that I should look for consistency and balance, but I could use a little more than that.
thanks for any help!

If you are looking for meat production you could ask about the litters out of the rabbits you are interested in. They might be able to tell you growth rates. If you are looking for show rabbits then I would use the SOP and look at anyone related to the one's you are buying.

Buying the Standard of Perfection book from the ARBA is VERY worth the money!
I agree with Heather too that you need to ask about production. Years ago, we bought "show" rabbits for our meat herd.....They were awesome on the show table but were horrible mothers. IF they had any babies, it was never in the box and the very few "litters" were got from them were maybe 2 or 3 kits per. NOT worth the money...they were an expensive meal.
