Sunburns..how to heal?

It looks so much better it's ludicrous!

It's barely pink anymore. There's some sloughing off of the skin, but it looks healthy. The scabs are falling off with healthy skin underneath. He's also started accepting the sunscreen easier. As long as he gets his treat afterwards.

Sunscreen worked amazingly well! Now to buy stock in it...

Many light colored horses get photsensitization, rather than true sunburn, on their light color markings on their faces. The sun interacts with various plant and food substances the horse has eaten. A change in diet can control photosensitization.

If it's true sunburn, there are several really nice fly sprays that have PABA (sunscreen) in them. I'm not sure if human sun block lotion would be non irritating to a horse, but it might work.
