Swollen knee

Our year old buckling had a swollen knee a couple days ago. Since he was limping I brought him in and confined him in a small area to give it a rest. Figured I'll give it through the weekend and if no improvement I'll run him to the vet Monday. In the meantime is there anything else we can try to help him? Hubby said it doesn't feel broken.

With regard to the buckling....Feel for crepitus (crunching feel) when you passively move the knee (usually present with severe injury and when there is lots of joint fluid). A twisting injury would be most likely cause of an isolated swollen knee 9no other joints affected). Bandaging it with the adhesive type dressing will immobilise it a bit and will reduce the pain.

He may need some anti-inflammatory/analgesia from you vet.

No crunching sounds. Will try compresses and bandaging. Swelling is a bit better today but it's definitely still bothering him. He's being so good though. After Bo the pushy bottle ram we had in the house, a quiet goat is a nice change.
