Hi. I have NM Dahl sheep. When I first brought them home they were wild.
I started everyday going into their pen area ( at first I kept them in a horse stall with a small fenced pen area), I feed them grains first it was out of a bucket, then out of my hands. I would sit quietly with them, sometimes siting next to their hay bin so they would have to get close to me to eat. Now 4 months later they allow me to pet them, and come when called. They can still be timid but have had a drastic improvement since bringing them home. It’s been all about patience and food. the key is to their stomachs lol.
