Also the taste of milk can be affected by what the goat eats...example give them onions or garlic and you probably aren't going to like the milk taste.

Got It! I won't feed them onions or garlic. Is alfalfa good? :D

Yep, Alfalfa is good :)

I mentioned onions and garlic cause they can grown wild in your field...

If you did not know this goats cannot just eat anything...there are alot of poisionous plants/trees etc that will kill them....

Do you homework on what you have on your pasture and surrounding area and what is poisionous to goats. Here is a list you can look through and there are some not listed.

As others said they are a browing animal not grazers....so forget about lawn mowing with them. They are just not interested it in.

I have Toggenbergs which are a larger breed of dairy goats. But if you are getting them just for pets. I would think about getting a smaller breed and stay away from bucks..make sure the bucks are wethered.

You really only want to keep a buck if your gonna breed. And thats a whole other subject!! LOL!!!

I would just look around and see what you like!!! Good luck goats are alot of fun!!
