Just born
Hi, I have been reading this forum for quite awhile and I just wanted to say thank you to everbody for all the helpful information. It's amazing how willing people here are to share their knowledge with those of us who are just starting out.
I have gotten so much out of this so far...is my goat really pregnant? hey, I can look at her hoo-ha and find out. What should I feed my chickens? Weeds! What a novel idea...you all are the best.
I am from Washington (the state) andif anyone would like to commiserate about what a crappy cold spring we've had, I'm there--my peas are only two inches tall and my beets didn't germinate AT ALL.
I have dairy goats, chickens and gardens, DH has a top-bar bee hive.
Helpful tips I have to share:
Build your goat barn to accomdate your dairy goats AND their offspring. Really, make it bigger. Much bigger.
There's a reason why you can't find any plans for a chicken tractor for 6-8 chickens. It's too heavy to move. Build it in one spot, and now build a fence.
My user name: I have no idea what it means. It is on an old drawing of my grandparents' first home, circa 1930. Is it he name of the farm they rented? The name of the person who drew the picture? My parents don't know, and my grandaprents are gone. They lived in Coeur d'Alene (sp?) Idaho, so if you have an idea, I'd love to hear.
