My Nubian 3rd freshener had triplets late yesterday afternoon. She is the only one I see clear signs and can be there to see every time so far. The rest just drop kids and surprise me. 2 more does due this week and no inbreeding this year!! Despite last year's inbred, named Inbred, trying really hard to go visit her daddy/grandpa.

Anyway 2girls/1boy! I can't upload a picture. It says that they are too big for the server......

Yeah, that's how it is. :) Congrats again!

That was the easy math

Their ears aren't quite as long as the full Nubian babies ears. What if I use the 75/25 girl (she has spots, pretty) and have her bred with the full Nubian, what percentage Nubian would those kids be? And the ears would have to meet the breed standard to get back to full Nubian, right? How many generations would it take assuming they meet the breed standards?

I had the same problem with trying to upload pics to my thread. I whined and my 16 year old DS came over. Apparently you right click the pic, go to edit which will bring you into paint. Then click on resize and change from 100 by 100 to 80 by 80. Then hit save and try again. That is what worked for me! So thankful for tech savvy children!! Great looking kids btw!

87.5% Nubian 12.5% Alpine. You divide mom's breed(s) and dad's breed(s) in half and then add the numbers together.
Ah I see. Thanks for the percentage figuring lesson.

The boy isn't standing on his hind feet properly. He has them bent back and puts weight on the front joint. I assume it's how they were in utero and it will fix itself soon....

If the limbs don't straighten out after a week or so, you can splint them in proper position with duct tape and let them tighten up that way for a bit.
