Do your goats have themed names? Ours, other than Sneeze and Nibbles who were named by my husband, have Harry Potter names. Currently we have Moony, Hermione, Bella, and Luna. We haven't named the three bucklings born this last week because they won't be staying past butchering age. They probably will be named at some point but nothing has jumped out at me yet.

Well, Skittles came with her name, but we named her two does, Nougat and Taffy. Domino was almost Licorice, but I was outvoted. :) I do like food names. I'm silly that way.

My Saanen does came with "US State" names: Georgia, Maryland (Maddie for short for Maryland postal code MD) and Carolina. When I got my Alpine, she was named Olive which I didn't like so I named her Oklahoma, Okie for short.

Among the meat goats, I have a Doppler and Radar. Radar put me in mind of M*A*S*H, so another goat was named Trapper John. Also have a rooster named Hawkeye. Winchester and Potter would be good names for male goats, so that name will be "bookmarked" for future use. And no, I will not be naming anyone Hunnicut.

I also have Spanish name goats: Paco, Blanco and Morado

I originally wanted to do a theme, but since I let the girls name all the kids, my 2nd generation has names all over the place: Airica, Angel, Buckshot, Paco, Olivia, Blanco ...

We do themes, but the themes are short-term. So, the whole herd isn't one theme. Sometimes we have all the kids named in their mom's theme (with their dad's initials in their registered name), and sometimes we do all the kids from a group of kiddings with a theme.

So, Alibi's first kidding resulted in Jail Bird and Felony; Peekboo's 1st and 2nd kidding resulted in Tag You're It, Hopscotch, Solitaire and DOuble Dutch; and Amber's 1st kids were Koelsch, Pilsner and Shandy.

The December 2012 kids were all winter/holiday themed: Fudge, Gingersnap, Spritz, Blitzen, Comet, Holly, Marshow (what my son calls marshmallows), and Smudge (like a smudge from soot/coal, she is a tricolor out of two light gold and white parents, sure surprised us!)

The juniors kidding over the next few weeks will have their kids named in their own themes. So DOuble Dutch's kids will all be single/double/triple type names; Pilsner will have drinking type names; and Jail Bird will have "bird" type names.

Our human kids have a theme too, lol. They are all place names.

We don't but I own a few animals where the breeders did.

One names his botanical names so I have Zamia, Rosmarinus, and Coleus.

I own a buck and that year the breeder named for bodies of water. His name is Caspian.
