I know that it will all come down to this problem for us one of these days and I know it won't be easy. I have the same problem with extra roosters, but I don't get attached to them and I don't have a problem taking the axe to them when the time comes, because I know that they have been well cared for and they have had a better life than they would have otherwise elsewhere. That's the kind of mind set I'm going to have to get when it comes to extra goats down the road, but it still won't be easy, considering they are so blasted cute when they are little and I've had a huge hand in raising them. Nope, not going to be an easy task........:hit

I raise lambs Bc I think I would have same issues with goats. And another way to look at it is Imo its better they go safely to my freezers than to be abused or neglected or simply passed to owner to owner.....
I am with you on that. We do meat lambs, that is their purpose, providing food. They lead as good a life as
a lamb can. They go out grazing fields, enjoy being in the sun, put away at night for safety, are well handled so
they don't fight you, and then to the freezer.

And sorry saying this on the Goat forum, but we like lambs best!! Both for being friendly without
being pesky and we think flavor of eating lamb meat is much superior to goat meat. ha ha!
