Hey.
I'm new to herd animals after raising chickens for 10+ years. The only herd animals I've raised were two lambs to test the herd animal waters. I'm thinking about getting and keeping sheep and goats permenantly. My current plan for housing would be to keep them together, however, I'm concerned about the sheep's sensetivity to copper.... I don't have room for a huge shelter or a barn, so putting them together seems like the best plan. I would appreciate any advice on this issue, or in general.
Thanks in advance!
J

I know several folks who keep theirs together and when I get my sheep intend to as well. You simply buy sheep minerals as that will provide everything for both except the copper for the goats. That is fixed by giving them copper boluses as needed.
