We have a little farmlet, right now as far as livestock we have 30+chickens (layers and meat birds), 6 (soon to be more) goats, mini donkey, a couple of llamas. We'd like to get a couple of meat pigs, but I've seen an awful lot of conflicting information on raising them. Can anyone with some experience (preferably in raising just a few for personal use, I know commercial operations do things a bit differently) reccomend some good, informative books/websites I can reference. I'm trying to be well-informed before we start the preparations.

Any help would be welcomed.

Thanks!

I know I'm way late on this but try Storey's Guide to Raising Pigs by Kelly Klober (The Storey's Guide series is wonderful). And check out John Seymour's "The Self-Sufficient Life and How to Live It".

I second the Storey's Guide series also. Great books, very well written and easy to understand.
