Loving the herd life
Back in 87, when I was in high school, I used to trap. I caught one of the first coyotes in KY. The fur buyer gave me $200 for the pelt.
Fast forward to today. They are everywhere. Here they pack together in groups of around 10 after the fall deer rut. They then separate in March. Some (I expect bitches with last years pups) may stay together through the summer. But! If they hear a distress, they will all come from every direction. I have seen as many as 30 at the rural airport when a game warden blasted a distress call (and that was in July a few years back).
Southern, your boy done good! The pelt looks to be nice. Sadly, probably only worth $5 these days.
