The grocery store where i usually buy hay stopped selling them. So i researched and found a pet shop that sells hay. The hay's inside a sealed plastic container.

When I got home, and opened the container, It smelled like ammonia. Is this bad? Should i still give it to my rabbits? HELP PLEASE!! thanks

IMO, it is bad. This sounds like hay that has been stored badly and was wet before storing....possibly had condensation in the bag, etc. Fresh hay for feeding should never smell of anything but sweet grass odor. I wouldn't feed it to any of my animals.

id bring it right back to the feed store and they should exchange it for another bag. id open the new bag before you leave again so you dont get all the way home to find the same thing. if that one is no good they should give you your money back and i'd try to find somewhere else to get it. could be a whole bad load, who knows.
