Time for some bargaining here... get 2 feeders, one for each of you. Tell the friend you'll buy them & keep them both at your place and his share will only cost the price of feed for both of them until slaughter and free slaughter help from his dad. :clap I'd plan for getting them this spring so they'll have the 6-8 months to grow out and slaughter this coming fall/early winter. Hope you'll start a journal detailing out the journey (with pics of course ;)).

It would take 6 - 8 months to grow from 150lbs to 250lbs?

I think your suggestion sound good with free butcher and food for my getting the feeders and staying on my property!

No... at least I don't believe so... I was figuring 6-8 months for a 40 pounder to get to 300.

Thanks for all the info everyone! Hoping to get lucky and find some for sale around here on CL. Not sure about any Farmers or here but we'll see.
