To shave or not to shave?

We shave ours but my vet does the torch thing with his cows...the hairs sort of just POOF into smoke, not really burn.

I shave my doe. It helps alot with the hair,since i milk by hand. She needs a re-trim every 6 weeks or so. The sound does not faze her.
