Two new baby boys!

Freya gave birth to two beautiful baby boys last night!

They are doing good I've kept a watchful eye on them all day.

My question is can the father stay in the yard with them? He seems protective and doesn't seem to have a desire to bother them. I was told with her last pregnancy that he would kill the babies and I took him away. This year I don't have anywhere to take him. So I am wondering if it is okay to leave him in with the mom (Freya) 8mo old daughter tinker bell and the new babies.

IMO it isn't always a matter of buck aggression more about the fact you have the mom that will cycle again and possibly get rebred or the 8 month old daughter. Do you really want her bred to her dad?

Our bucks are very nurturing to the little guys and protect them.
We have never had a buck that tried to hurt a baby buckling.
We have 11 bucks. and will be adding more.
I know our situation is not the norm but probably the exception.
Our Kiko bucks LOVE the babies.

Those boys are beautiful!!! Congrats!!!! Didn't vote as I have sheep and not goats and no clue about how aggressive bucks are with babies...rams yes...I take them out!

So far he seems protective and just stays near them and watches.

It's like Southern said if he isn't hurting the babies that's not an issue
It's breeding the mom when she comes in heat or the 8 month old daughter but if he's been with them the whole time she is likely already bred

I think you can leave them together. If your goats are seasonal breeders they shouldn't cycle again until the end of summer. But like One Fine Acre said, the 8 month all may be bred if they have been together.

My buck Matadore lets the kids use him as a jumping board. The jump on him, stand on him, chew on him even. He just lets them do it.
