We finally got our Goats!

As of last night, we have both of our newly aquired goats in the barn. I bought a yearling Saneen and a yearling Oberhasli, both of which have been breed and hopefully have taken. I absolutely love the Obe. She's very calm and friendly. I reallly like her color and overall body shape. Hopefully she will be a good milker when the time comes. The Saneen is also friendly and calm, but I just can't get as excited about her. It's probably because I have been so determined to get an Obe. I have to drive 260 miles round trip to get her, but it was well worth it to me.

I'm excited for you as I just got my two (doeling & wether) nubians on Friday.

Mine are very calm and want to be into everything I'm doing. Saturday they were very helpful in standing on everything I had going building them a 5' x 5' platform to stand on. Weren't bothered at all by the drill or circular saw.

They weren't raised around dogs, so they would hide behind me when I had mine out in the yard one at a time.

I have three herding dogs and with all three at once was a little too much for the little darlings because all they wanted to do was herd them off from behind me.
