Hi to all, I have two wethers about 10 months olds and one female about 3 years old; all Nigerian Dwarfs. One of the boys is making a kind of chicken sound while mildly and briefly attempting to mount the female. The other male does not try, but he makes every effort to prevent the 1st male from even getting close. Can anyone comment on what is going on with the three of them? Thanks!

Your doe is in heat. The noise he is making is flirting. First time I heard it, I was cracking up. Wethers, despite not being able to get the doe pregnant, will still flirt and mount does in heat. Fortunately, they are less likely to pee on themselves and smell far less strongly than an intact buck.
