:barnie So we bred our 2 does. Everything went fantastic. :weee That is up until last night. We have 2 bucks as you all have probably read. So after it was all said and done. We put everyone back where they belonged. And patting ourselves on the back. Because this was our 1st time breeding 2 does. And it went so well. The does are calm want nothing to do with the bucks now. So about 11pm last night I hear my girls yelling. We all jump out of bed and go running outside. Our biggest buck had climbed the fence and was trying to get into their pen. :smack Get him back. Wake up at 5:45 this morning and he is gone again. :he Run outside and he is in the pen with my 3 does. He climbed both fences. :rant And now he is still trying. But the girls want nothing to do with him. And his sweet brother is behaving. Now I don't know if he rebred them or what. It did not go as we planned after all. I swear sometimes with Tack I could just :hu :somad :rant

If the 1 doe was already bred to another buck could the buck that broke in get her pregnant too? I purposesly bred my 84lb doe to my 120lb buck. The one that broke in is 160 lbs. I am hoping that the 5 month old was completely out of heat. Guess I will have to wait till next month for the small one to see. And I don't know how to figure out if my small doe is pregnant by which buck. :hu

I am new to goats, but for sure the pygmy doe I bought who was bred, (unbeknownst to me at the time) had two does and they definitely have different sires. One is as ND looking as the purebred ND I have and the other is very Nubian, long ears and nose. I rather think tho that it would have to happen at the time the doe is in heat, not after she has been bred for a while. Don't quote me tho, :)

It's possible that if 2 (or more) bucks breed a doe in the same heat cycle to have kids sired by both...but it has to be the same heat cycle.

I've read of the rare, obscure case where animals get bred again later and carry double pregnancies w/ different gestational ages, but again, that's very, very rare.

Our Togg buck refused to stay in a pen during breeding season. I had to keep him tied to something (I hated doing it, but I had to) until I could find someone to buy him. He broke out of every pen we reinforced for him. After his 4th escape I knew he HAD to go.

Thank you Rolls. I wanted to beat my buck Tack. You made me feel so much better. We are going to put him up for sale. After the holidays. It was the same heat. He is a sweet buck. But is he ever stubborn. UUUGGHHHH. He beats his poor brother up all the time. And when I don't give him his way does he ever yell at me. Never tries to hurt me just yells like he is being murdered.

you have to be careful when seperating in rut bucks, i have found out the hard way , long story short sometime in the night he decided to jump or climb, and i found the poor fella the next morn hanging by his back leg , it was broke in half above the foot joint, i had to amputate it . he has recovered now but he wobbles on three legs. now if itake abuck from his girls he will go into total lock down, and put in a buckproof climb proof enclosure..
