We just had our pig butchered, but we did all the processing after that. I now have a lot of fat that I know is useable. Other than making lard, which I ddi with the leaf fat, what else should I do with this. I plan to use a little to add to my venison for sausage, but what else?

My mom renders all the fat from our pigs. Once rendered and sealed into canning jars, it keeps for a long time with no refrigeration. We use a lot of it when cooking (sautéing, etc...) instead of using butter.

Throw out all liquid oils and shortenings, except Extra Virgin Olive, coconut oil, and specialty nut oils in fridge, and use it for all of you cooking, pan greasing, pie and pastry crusts. Real food equals real life! Yum!

I render out our hog fat. Makes wonderful biscuits and is great for frying french fries!
