Help!

I have been driving myself crazy trying to figure out what type of goats I have. I bought them on a whim from someone who didnt know much about what they are ( I know.. stupid. but they are so cute and friendly) and to be honest I just felt like I needed to rescue them and give them a better home then what they were living in..

anyway.. I know they either have to be Nigerian Dwarfs or Pygmies.. but they look so similar in the eyes of a goat rookie like myself that I just cant figure it out.


... well Ive tried to post a few pictures but the website wont let me for some reason.. ill try again later.

In the meantime.. what are some obvious differences between the two breeds?

Pictures would help but you have to have participated enough on the forum to be allowed photo privilege.

If they are young, it might be harder to tell but pygmy goats, which are mostly meat goats, are heavier, thicker, and have less coat patterns and colors than Nigerians. Nigerians are a diary goat so they are sleek, light framed, and come in some of the same coats as pygmy goats but are known for their flashy patterns and coloring.

They could be a cross too. Can you ask the people you got them from or do they not know?
