We were watching an episode of the Rifleman yesterday and they had an old Hereford cow with a beautiful set of horns. I don't know when that series was filmed but it was in black and white.

The Rifleman was filmed from 1958-1963 at the Iverson Ranch Calif.

Me? I like red and white from a Domino line.

After going to the local fair last weekend and seeing all Angus/Red Angus dominating the stage, I would definitely prefer some red white-faces grazing my pastures than solid blacks or reds.

I like Hereford just because they are way less agressive in my opinion. My area is mainly angus and angus x. Although there are a ton of brockle faced red and black critters running around. There is also one ranching family out here that won't touch anything that isn't Hereford. I don't know what a small family ranch is in your parts but I think they run something like 300-500 between the father and son operation.

Out of those two then it would be Hereford (old orig horned breed) mind you the old ABERDEEN Angus was a useful animal before it got bastardised

Herefords--the red and white ones of course, tho black baldies will work too-if I absolutely had to.
