Looks just like a caramel colored Pygmy. Caramel refers to the color pattern. Light colored body, darker topline, with darker leg markings with the light color on the front of the legs. It is a very specific pattern and that goat meets the pattern criteria. The body color can be anywhere from white, to cream, to a darker almost mocha color, but as long as they have the correct markings (and that goat does) they are considered caramel.
Pygmy goats are true achondroplastic dwarves. They are small, their legs are short, they are heavy boned. It is what a pygmy is. For what it's worth - I've raised and shown pygmy goats for 25+ years and he is a beautiful boy. If you could make him closer to perfect - his face could be darker. Eh...not a big deal really.
If he is smaller than a normal pygmy that could be from a lack of proper nutrition, carrying a heavy parasite/coccidia load, or just his genetics.
If he is smaller than he ought to be, given that pygmies are small but still have a standard height range, you should definitely check for parasites with a fecal test. What do you currently do to manage parasites? Also do some assessment of his nutrition. Do you offer free choice hay and minerals? Does your area typically have animal issues with deficiencies?
He has all the grass n hay he can eat plus mineral out n he gets 1 cup of feed a twice daily n just wormed him so he doesn't have worms I want to use him as my breeder male but I had to buy a different male bc he's so short he can mabie reach my 1 year old females but not my older females
What kind of feed? How much protein? And, unless you are having a fecal run after worming, there's no way to be sure he isn't still carrying parasites...
I use a Pygmy male on my Nubian females. BIG height difference, lol. I stand the girls in front of a ramp. The male figured out very quickly that the ramp was his friend. It'll work if you give him a little help!
But, if he's not working out for what you need, why don't you just sell him? He's a pretty nice looking guy and would probably sell easily.
