So recently my stepson bought a cute little goat from the auction. Will after about 2 weeks, he(the goat) found his way to our house. He made himself home with my chickens and turkeys. Well we have since paid my stepson for the little guy. I'm just curious what breed or breeds he might be. It doesn't matter, I'm just curious. We plan on getting him a few buddies soon

Greetings and welcome to BYH from NE TX! So glad you joined us. No idea what breed it is but it doesn't look like Lamancha, Pygmy, or Boer but does look "dairy" to me so maybe Nigerian Dwarf crossed with Alpine? Doesn't appear to have the big roman nose of a Nubian... There's a wealth of info, knowledge and experience shared in the multitude of threads. Browse around and see what interesting stuff you can find. By all means post away when the desire strikes you, especially if you have questions (provide as much detail/info as possible and pictures truly help)... With all the great folks here, generally someone will respond in no time at all. Please make yourself at home!

PLEASE put at least your general location in your profile. It could be very important if/when you ask for or offer help or advice. You know, climate issues and such. I recommend at least your state as most folks won't be able to figure out where if you put anything more specific (county, town, street, etc) by itself. Old folks like me will never remember & look there first. To add it, mouse hover over Account top right and a drop down will appear. Click on Personal Details and scan down. You'll see the spot for Location. Then go to the bottom and save changes. Thanks! Hope you enjoy the site!

Oh, everyone knows that that is the "Handsome Lad" breed. Known to thrive on love, raisins and lots of attention.

Welcome to BYH! Glad you found us and thrilled you have joined the growing population of humans owned by goats.

What did you name your Handsome Lad? And do get him some friends as one goat is never ever enough. :)

Looks like the Nubian ears. Those telltale pendulus ears. Face maybe Nigerian Dwarf. Definitely a Nubian crossed with something because as mentioned there is no Roman nose. Cute fella! He needs buddies to play with!;)
