Imma Okie
Chillin' with the herd
We have our first babies (YAY) and we purchased the L&H Cast Bronze Dehorner to disbud them.
First let me say that they are just over a day old f/s LaManchas, a buckling and a doeling. I will be waiting about 2 more days before disbudding the buckling and a even later for the doeling (based on how their horn buds feel).
The L&H Cast Bronze has an OD of 3/4 and an ID of 5/8. My question: Is this too large for my kids? I see some Rhineharts with 1/2 ID and 3/8 ID, so I can't help but wonder if I messed up and purchased the wrong size. To add to my confusion is the X-30 description:
Here is a link to the product: http://www.jefferslivestock.com/goat-n-small-calf-dehorner/camid/LIV/cp/L5-GA/
I want to do this correctly so there won't be scurs and I don't want to hurt the kids.
Thanks for reading this.
