I've got a DN doe who is jumping a 4 1/2 ft fence flat out too shes a houdini and its driving us crazy we can't put in a garden until shes under control. If I can't figure something out were going to have to get rid of her. She just had babies too so not only would we have to get rid of her but her does as well. We though about hobbling her maybe put a piece of leather between her front and back leg.I'm afraid one of these days shes going to get caught in the fence and break her leg. Any Ideas? Crystal

You could put a string of hot wire about 6 inches above your existing fence.

Also, if you don't want to run hot wire, get some welded wire fencing, 24"-36" in height and add it on to your existing fence. When I first got goats, I started off with regular cattle panel fencing. After watching an Angora wether (who aren't supposed to be jumpers like dairy goats) sail over such a fence, I added 36" high welded wire to my fence. The wire overlaps by about 18 inches, adding 18 inches to my fence height. My nephew and I were able to get it done in about an hour and used zip ties to hold the wire in place and to the posts. I'll try and post pics later.

If you have wooden posts, try and get some cheap warped lumber (1x2 or 4 or 6) and nail the boards 6" higher than your fence.

Try and make sure that you don't have any tall stumps or anything that she is using as a booster.
