I have several goats that have white eyelids. They are bottle babies that are between 8-11 weeks old. They have been wormed 2-3 times and they are still white. My buck is pink when I pull his lid down and he has not been wormed. What should I do to get some pink on the babies eyelids?

what are you deworming with? you probably should get a fecal done. Not all worm treatments kill all worms. you may be using something that does not work for the particular kind of worm your babies have.

What are you worming with and at what dosage? The label dosages are usually too low for goats. If you have wormed several times and it is still not clearing up your wormer is not working well.

If we know what you are using now we can make some suggestions for different wormers or dosages.

Could also be coccidia, or a worm / cocci combo. I'd have a fecal ran ASAP.

I had a fecal done on one of my does when she was sick. The vet said she had a very low level of coci and parasites. I showed him the wormer I had and he said it was fine. I did a triple dose like everyone here says to do. I guess I need to get another wormer. the main ingredient was ivermectin so I thought it was fine too but something is not right with my goats.

I think its coccidia and a worm load as well. I would go to the vets Monday am and pick up some Albon for coccidia. Personally I would treat all for 5-7 days and give the barn a good cleaning. Good luck.

I would give them all some probiotics after the Albon treatment, as well as a vitamin B shot...they need to gobble some hay to get that rumen back up and running after a week of Albon.

If they are really anemic I would give em some red cell as well to boost their iron after a heavy worm load. But see how they do??? Thats up to you.

Good Luck...hope it clears up for them.

In my opinion..... Horse wormer is not a good choice for goats. It is ok in a pinch, but it is so difficult to know exactly what dosage of ivermec you are actually giving your goat. Get the ivermec pour on or injectable (pour on is much cheaper) it is much more effective.
