When I got my pot belly pigs and goats there we’re living together. They seemed fine as far as families. The worm load wasn’t terrible and with deworming I got it on track no problems. They were together at our farm at first too...because we thought they could be and should be, since they always were. I’m not 100% sure about pots being omnivorous...maybe they could be...but ours only eat veggies and chicken feed. Once my goats became pregnant I looked much more serious at the issue....they are not living together now...but do get to visit each other at times. I’ll explain if you want me to...my farm is the exception to the rule. After the kids are grown, I may relax and let them in together more often..because they really do miss each other...but... here’s my biggest issue, besides the worms, which , I work hard to control...the pigs weigh much much more than my goats. They are weight bearing so much more, that on wet days..the soil is getting wrecked soo much faster and turned into soup faster. Honestly, it’s not from the pigs rooting up, because these two don’t, not sure why, they only really root their bedding. But..the soil is turned to mush and that creates hoove problems fast!! All that bacteria gets caught in there so much faster that if the ground is harder. We rotated our past three times...it’s not big...but, still, it was due to sharing the load with the pigs. Now that only the pigs are in there...I’m much less worried abou5 the mud...because they can handle it. I’m totally new to this...so...take it for what it’s worth..but that has been my observation so far. Good luck!!Thank you very much for this information! We will follow your direction in this regard.
