We just brought our man sheep, He-Ram, home on the weekend to breed our three ewes. We now have the opportunity to bring a buck in for a while to breed our two Alpine cross does. He won't be here permanently, just until he breeds our does, but I'm concerned that the males will fight. The buck has giant man horns and I don't want him to injure our ram. They would all be running in the same pasture.

They probably will fight. At least initially until they determine herd order. Plus the hormones will play into that.

I have bucks in with my ram. He's a Jacob sheep so his horns are definitely more intimidating than what the goats have. They give him his space, he prefers to be by himself anyway. There was a little head butting at first, but all "sheepicorn" has to do is lower his head, wave his horn and the bucks scatter.
