How often does everyone worm their goats? - I've had fecals done that were negative, but do not have the money to constantly have checked. And also is Ivermectin save to use on pregnant does? I see it's safe for pregnant mares but was just curious.

Thanks in advance.

Maybe once a year, but that is after a $15 fecal test. Saves money and prevents parasite resistance since no way to know if they need treatment or for what without it. Ivermectin is safe for pregnant goats. It does not treat all types of parasites though.

We use FAMACHA and worm when they score 4 or 5. Sometime 3 if they have other issues like poor coat or are thin. I have used Ivermectin on pregnant does. No problems.

When you use the Ivermectin how often do you deworm? I just purchased a bred doe - who tested negative by the vet - but the prior owners weren't sure the last she was dewormed. I didnt know if I should deworm her now and/or if anyone keeps a schedule of worming? I know for our horses we worm when the seasons change.
