I have two 6 month old pygmy's...I live in pa where it gets very very cold....my boys live in a stall in an old barn...the barn is drafty but they are covered from the elements for the most part.everything I read says keep them out of wind but what about the drafts in the barn? I'm worried for them...any suggestions would help!

What do you mean by drafty? A goat barn needs some air circulation, they are prone to respiratory issues. You want to make sure there are no drafts in the lower four feet of the barn. Above that you want some circulation. We keep ours in a 3 sided barn. The open side is to the lee side and it works fine. You may get a little colder than we do so you might want some kind of block on that fourth side but it doesn't need to go completely across. Two pigmys don't need much space. If they have a little corner, about 10 square feet to get out of the wind they will be fine. Goats will find the spot where they are comfortable.

If you can cover the lower four foot section with plywood that would be good. I have a 10X10 with full swinging doors to the East. During the winter months I close one door completely and the other door is left open enough for them to go in and out as they choose.
