I would try it too. I haven't yet, but I've smelled it when we fed it to the tigers, and it smelled a little strong, but not bad. But like I said, I wouldn't eat one of my expensive work-horses... Where to find one that isn't too expensive but was still raised humanely is the next question...Dino said:I would. My dad said its a little stringier and sweeter than beef, nothing wrong with it except what is in the public's own mind.
Very true. It's our society that frowns upon eating horses. They are always looked at as pets. I agree that something should be done. Better yet, feed many people that are starving!PendergrassRanch said:I think we should being eating horse, it should be available as a staple in super markets and it should also be available to raw fed dogs. I'm sick of bleeding hearts whining about how we should save all the horses but they don't put their money where their mouth is.
I love horses, I do. I have owned a few and I would like to own another someday. The only way to cure this over population of horses is to eat them. The breeders certainly don't give two poops about how they are adding to the problem. Ever go to a horse race? Did you know that not only do they over breed their own horses to get that ONE top winning horses, they also over breed other horses, sell of their babies and use the mares as nurse mares. Its sickening.
If they did sell it, wouldn't they be required to label it? And I heard about the horse races but wasn't aware of how far they went. I just know a lot of animals, such as horses and greyhounds, are homeless or killed because they didn't measure up.Dino said:I too think it should be offered in stores to the public. I don't think people should be buying it thinking it is beef though... such as is happening in various locations today thanks to unscrupulous businessmen.
