this is my first time with a prego goat. I don't have a due date. she's a pygmy goat. the question I have is that it seems i can put my hand all the way around her spine close to her rear. does the mean her ligaments are gone? she's soft there, I believe they are, but again, I have no idea.

If you lay your hand on the base of the spine at the tail...palm down...fingers pointed toward tail...spine between your second and ring finger...

If with gentle pressure on each side you don't feel the connecting ligaments, then they are gone and you are close.

If you feel the stringy loose ligaments then they are not quite gone.

Hope that helps...I found that to be the easiest way to feel my pygmies ligaments.
