What can I say that you haven't heard before LOL? Small homestead (10 acres) of which 7 acres is devoted to pasture. On that pasture are 1 ram and 5 ewes, 3 of whom we are hoping are pregnant (the other two are only 4 months old). Also have 1 Boer billy and 1 Boer doe. Again, we hope the doe is pregnant. All 8 animals run together so due dates are a mystery. It works, even if the billy is a butthead (literally). The sheep are various mixes of hair breeds. If I had to choose between sheep and goats, I'd choose the sheep.
Currently surviving our first winter with ruminants. I built hay walls under our run-in shelter so they have a place to shelter from the awful winter weather, and eat while they do. They prefer to be out in the elements, grazing on the winter grass, to grazing the hay we stored up for them. All we can do is offer, right?
Also have a large flock of turkeys, chickens and ducks - but that's what BYC is for, right?
