Our Lab is allergic to soy, rice, and lamb. As an alternative, I'm thinking about making her homemade treats instead so that I know what are in them. We are both tired to going to the vet for cortisol shots.

So, what are some of your pet's favorite treat recipes? ETA: Her favorites: carrots, apple, chicken, eggs, milk.

My dogs love eggs, milk and most veggies if I put them through the blender first.

Sorry to hear about your lab's allergies, hope you get things sorted.

Everything you listed, except the apples, are what my dogs eat for dinner!

Dehydrated meat makes a great training treat. Mine also go bonkers for cheese and peanut butter....all natural, of course!

My dogs go absolutely NUTS for the big crunchy broccoli stem that comes with fresh broccoli. They also love the center core of a head of cabbage.

... Just a note though... I usually regret giving it to them about 8 hours later.... Phewie... It doesn't seem to effect them in any other way but the gas is something powerful.

I know of lots of people who make their own food.

Our dogs get chicken, always raw and never cooked, because of the bones, sometimes pork and cooked hamburger as a treat. Also they get carrots and other cooked veggies.

Whenever you feed be sure that the majority of your dog's diet is meat. They are carnivors and their bodies aren't able raw veggies very well.
